The other side of the space is a workshop where free-hanging glass pieces as well as commissioned work is produced.

About The Glass & Technique
Mouth-blown glass from Poland is mainly used, for its subtlety of colour and quality. Tiny bubbles (called 'seeds') in the glass add to its beauty. A 'drawn' glass from Germany is also used which has a filigreed surface texture and is also beautifully clear.
The shadows produced when the sun shines through this glass are amazing !
Detail on the panels is produced by acid-etching - a technique which keeps the work light, unlike painting on glass which tends to darken it.

Julia Mill Gallery - Commissioned Work
In September 2005 Heather Frary joined Julia. Heather is an accomplished artist - who has learned the technique of leaded work. Her arrival resulted in the additional production of external windows and doors.
Both Julia and Heather work closely with clients to ensure the right design and colours are used to suit the environment that the piece is to be kept in.
Panels can be made using any colour combination - feel free to contact the gallery to discuss individual requirements.
